Halloween Costumes (That Don’t Look Homemade!) with Natalie Leavenworth Wednesdays, September 29-October 20 6:30-8:30pm $80+supplies You’ll be the life of the party in your spectacularly spooky, or not so spooky, Halloween costume. Why settle for the ubiquitous white sheet again when you could be the regally attired Queen Victoria or flamboyantly gaudy member of ABBA. Or perhaps you’d rather leave Halloween to the kids and make that Superman costume (complete with cape!) for your nephew.

These hats are fast and simple to make. They’re soft and flexible so you can squish them into your beach bag or pack them in a suitcase. Natalie has made several of these hats for stage productions and costumes. Try the new laminated fabrics for a fashionable and functional rain hat or use a bright and colorful floral print to wear in your garden or at the beach.

Better known as Mending, Improvements and Alterations, this class takes you step-by-step through common DIY solutions for your wardrobe misfits. We’ll show you how easy it is to hem your pants, replace a zipper or fix the the holes in your favorite jeans.

Basic Hand Sewing Techniques
With just a needle and some thread you can go a long way. Come and learn some of the basic and useful hand sewing techniques that will keep you under budget by reviving those beloved garments that need mending. Or simply discover the therapeutic side of hand sewing.

In this female dominated industry, it’s really exciting to see a growing number of the opposite gender taking an interest in sewing. We’re not talking just the occasional mending job or sewing on a button either. This class is reserved just for you guys. Sew up some pajama pants or boxer shorts. They’re the perfect project for first timers as well as the more experienced. Male-bonding at its best!

Pick-a-Skirt with Meredith Neal

Skirts are the quintessential wardrobe staples. Fancy or casual, short or full length they flatter everybody and can be styled out of any fabric. Choose a pattern that speaks to you and learn the fundamentals of skirt construction like seam finishes, hems, waistbands and closures.
