Visual Media Camp: Stop Action Film & Digital Photography
In this week long art camp artists will create their own stop animation movie using digital photography and editing with one of our founding artists Beth Ann Short. Youth artists will write a script, create characters & back drops, shoot images with digital cameras and aid in editing process. Each youth artist will go home with a copy of the finished movie on a dvd. Final screening will be the last day of each camp session and youth are encouraged to invite friends & family. In addition to the film creation, youth artist will also be shooting photos and learning about basic compositional elements to eye catching photography. Youth will also be coming home with photos that they shot throughout the week. Lab Fee: $15 for materials payable the first day of camp
In this week long camp youth artists will explore working in 3-dimensions moulding various media. The studio will be focusing on the fine art of sculpture. Youth artists will explore wire armature wrapped with plaster gauze, plaster molds, building materials and more! Artists offering inspiration this week include Picasso, Sir Jacob Epstein, Julio Gonzalez & more!
Art Camps run from 9am-3pm.
Youth artists should bring a healthy lunch & a water bottle and be prepared to visit a local park (2 blocks from studio) for 30 minutes for outside time after lunch.
We also offer the option of 3-5pm aftercare for those who need longer days for an extra $20 per day. An afternoon healthy snack will be provided by the studio.
