Youth Summer Art Camps 2010 - Stop Action Film & Digital Photography

We are excited to announce new camps for 2010 that run Monday through Friday! Rich in the fine arts tradition, we will provide your child with the tools to channel their fine art voice and a fun & safe place to explore and socialize with other youth artists. Layaway Camp Camp cost for five days: $300 Visual Media Camp: Stop Action Film & Digital Photography In this week long art camp artists will create their own stop animation movie using digital photography and editing with one of our founding artists Beth Ann Short. Youth artists will write a script, create characters & back drops, shoot images with digital cameras and aid in editing process. Each youth artist will go home with a copy of the finished movie on a dvd. Final screening will be the last day of each camp session and youth are encouraged to invite friends & family. In addition to the film creation, youth artist will also be shooting photos and learning about basic compositional elements to eye catching photography. Youth will also be coming home with photos that they shot throughout the week. Lab Fee: $15 for materials payable the first day of camp
Sculpture In this week long camp youth artists will explore working in 3-dimensions moulding various media. The studio will be focusing on the fine art of sculpture. Youth artists will explore wire armature wrapped with plaster gauze, plaster molds, building materials and more! Artists offering inspiration this week include Picasso, Sir Jacob Epstein, Julio Gonzalez & more! Art Camps run from 9am-3pm. Youth artists should bring a healthy lunch & a water bottle and be prepared to visit a local park (2 blocks from studio) for 30 minutes for outside time after lunch. We also offer the option of 3-5pm aftercare for those who need longer days for an extra $20 per day. An afternoon healthy snack will be provided by the studio. Register with a relative or a buddy and receive $25 off each youth artists camp tuition! We promise to continue to provide an approachable and comfortable place to take fine art traditions to a new level where you can use your creative voice to translate.
